It was a cold, windy night as always. Her nails clicked lightly against the ground as she walked up the driveway and around the house. Her fur was blown to the side as she waded around in the shallow end.
Rhia went under, soaking herself. It felt good- especially since this pool was heated. But little did this Blue Merle Aussie Collie mix know that a dog lived here. And he was watching her this very moment. NOTES: sorry for this horrible post! WORDS: eighty. nine. words. TAGGED: who's this for? no one. *she isn't wearing her bandana. just sayin'. [/style]

It glared at him, past his eyelids, into his eyes and waking him up from his dream. He knew Oliver was asleep upstairs. A soft, gentle breeze whispered near his silvery-white cheek. he stood up slowly, his black nails tapping against the tile kitchen floor as he lowered his head and began to eat his kibble. It wasn't his favorite thing to eat, he preferred table scraps, but it was good for a midnight snack. There was a few leftover french fries from Oliver's lunch, and he put his paws up on the counter, taking them off the surface and scarfing them down. He choked slightly and coughed, swallowing hard to get it down. he then padded back to his bed, circling it a few times before settling down and staring out the large, back sliding door.
something rippled the pool water, and snare's ears perked a bit. he stood up, curiously making his way to the door. he saw a dog, a stray, swimming in the pool. a small chuff escaped his maw and he pressed his cold, black nose against the door. quickly, he stood up on his hind legs and pulled the door open with his paws, which he had learned how to do from watching Oliver open the door with his hands. He strolled out into the chilly, fresh air, and leaped into the water beside the stray.
"Hi there!" He greeted, sniffing her cheek and ears curiously. She didn't look to friendly, but it didn't matter to him, he was always good at making friends. He swam around the pool for a little while, his paws sweeping through the water like paddles. his tail was like a rudder, as he turned it to the left or right, he would turn as well. His collar was getting drenched, and eventually made his neck itch and feel uncomfortable. He was used to swimming without it on, and Oliver would have to take it off for him. He looked up at the bedroom window, sighing in disappointment that he would have to deal with his went collar throughout the rest of the night. |
